Size: Adults range from 7 inches to 12 inches in length and can live 10 to 20 years.
Feeding: Leopard geckos are insectivores. They readily take crickets, mealworms, superworms and waxworms.
Environment: Desert areas of Middle East (Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India).
Temperature & Humidity: Daytime high in basking area of 85-90’F and a nighttime low of 70-75’F. Be sure to keep the heat to one side of the enclosure to allow for temperature regulation.
Captive Care: Leopard Geckos are nocturnal, ground dwelling geckos. They are docile. A 15-20 gallon aquarium with a secure screen top is suitable for 2-4 geckos (preferably 1 male per group). There are many different commercially available desert substrates and cage decorations available from your local pet retailer. Leopard geckos will benefit from many different hiding spots, as well as rocks and cliffs to climb and reach the basking area. Clean fresh water should be provided daily.
