Size: 4.5" to 6.25" (inches) total length.

Feeding: Mealworms, crickets and wax worms (calcium and D3 dusted).

Environment: Desert and arid habitats of southern Asia (eastern Arabia, north to Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and western China).

Temperature & Humidity: Daytime high 84-94'F (28-34'C) with nighttime lows of 68'F (20'C). Provide a morning mist.

Captive Care: Simple desert setup with deep sand, as they like to burrow. Plenty of hiding and basking spots with rocks and tree hollows.

Breeding: Eight week brumation period with daytime highs 60-60"F (15-18'C) and nighttime low 50-60'F (10-15'C). Cease feeding during this time, but provide fresh clean water daily and continue the morning mist. Slowly bring temperatures up to normal daytime highs and nighttime lows, while feeding heavy using calcium and D3. Breeding will occur with in a few weeks. Females will lay a clutch of two eggs. Incubation temperature should be between 80-90'F (25-30,C) with humidity levels around 40-50% (any higher will kill the embryo). Eggs will hatch between 70-100 days.
